We collaborate with digital teams across government to make joined-up services that work for users.

We create patterns and tools that allow designers working on public services all over the world to share best practices, both inside and outside of government.

We design digital interfaces, events, posters and social media in a consistent and functional graphic language that is accessible to everyone.

Design roles at GDS come in three specialisms:

  • interaction designers: designing how things should work
  • service designers: designing what the things should be
  • graphic designers: explaining what the thing does

We’re a relatively small team which means that most of us work on all areas of the design, but picking a specialism that reflects your particular skills will help with making sure your career progresses in the area you're most interested in.

Our work has been recognised and awarded by the Design Museum, D&AD, IXDA and lots of others.
